Step 3: Closing Outlook Express and Windows Messenger
You must close Outlook Express and Windows Messenger before proceeding
to the next step of the backup procedure. In order to operate correctly,
Outlook Express Backup Wizard requires exclusive access to all Outlook
Express files and Registry keys. If you have Outlook Express and/or Windows
Messenger running, you must close these programs. After closing Outlook
Express and Windows Messenger, check the appropriate checkboxes.
Warning: Attempts to backup while Outlook Express or Windows
Messenger is running may result in damaged or incomplete data in the backup
